The next offering is the film SING SING at the Finsbury Park PictureHouse at 3:10pm on Thurs 5 September. The cost is £7.60.If you’re coming for the first time, you’ll have to join the PictureHouse’s Silver Screen programme but it’s free and painless to sign up. This film is about an 1 hour and 45 mins long. So, it will finish just after 5pm when you add on the trailers.

We can then go into the Member’s Lounge to have a chat about the film or talk about other things.

Here is the synopsis of the film:

Divine G (Colman Domingo), imprisoned at Sing Sing for a crime he didn’t commit, finds purpose by acting in a theatre group with other incarcerated men.

When a wary outsider joins the group, the men decide to stage their first original comedy, in this stirring true story of resilience, humanity, and the transformative power of art.

The film is based on the real-life Rehabilitation Through the Arts program at the maximum security prison, 30 miles north of New York City.  It stars professional actors Domingo and Paul Raci, alongside many real-life formerly incarcerated men who were themselves alumni of the program during their incarceration
