Ludotek, a well-established childrens' charity based in the St Anne's Library on Cissbury Road, is very keen to recruit a Dad or two to its management committee (I say Dads only because I'm the only one on the management committee at the moment, though of course Mums are welcome too).
If you've never heard of Ludotek, I've attached a leaflet setting out all the activities it provides - principally a fantastic play session and toy library (with really great toys) every Saturday and Monday, as well as a Messy Play on Tuesdays and an older kids club every second Saturday too.
18 months ago, it was awarded substantial funding from the Big Lottery Fund (through Haringey Council) and it's been running for nearly 10 years now.
As a Committee member, your only commitment would be to attend a 2-hour monthly management meeting on a Saturday afternoon and chip in, though your responsibilities might, from time to time, mean another 2-3 hours possible time a month doing whatever you felt you could meaningfully contribute. I've attached a leaflet setting out the roles and responsibilities involved.
This is a great opportunity to really help a fantastic charity but also to learn about the voluntary sector, the local community and children's work generally. Plus some finances may be available to provide additional training if you're interested in getting skills-based training relevant to the committee (e.g. basic accounting, secretarial skills etc.)
If you'd like more information, are curious or even if you just want to know more about Ludotek's events, just send me a message.
