Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Chance to get our own back - Competition to rename the borough

For about 20 years I've been gnashing my teeth publicly on Harringay Online about the Council's absolute refusal to EVER use our neighbourhood's name, most recently this week.

So, I was mischievously intrigued to see a notice of a competition to rename  London borough n my inbox this morning.

Hosted as part of the promotions for a book by Mike Hall and Matt Brown, you acn read mor about it here

What a chance! If they can play fast and loose with our name: we can now at least have the pleasure of nipping at their heels!

There are any number of new names which could be generated from some combination of the letters from Crouch End, Hornsey, Tottenham and Wood Green.  But would any of them be as good as Boaty McBoatface?

My new favourite is for the railway line cleaners - Cont Alt Deleaf. I'm sure HoL readers can come up with a prize-winner!

Kulch-Abara, in honour of the council leader's costly pet project, Borough of Culture 2027.
