Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

On Thursday night, my car had its catalytic converter stolen. I only found out that's what it was this morning, as I thought it was the car's ongoing exhaust problems resurfacing...

The car was on Glenwood Rd by the junction with St Ann's.

Very annoyingly I was going to trade my old car in today - and has cost me £600 in trade in value!

I went to my usual garage (JTF by Bruce Castle Park) first to get some docs for said trade in - they mentioned they'd had three Hondas and Toyotas with same issue recently.

After nursing what now sounds like a diesel loco up to Honda in Enfield, they said they'd had five brought in THIS WEEK.

Our thieving little charmers are taking them for the precious metals - Honda mechanic reckoned they're good for 80 quid a pop at a scrap yard.

So a warning to all those with fairly old cars with exposed converters to stay vigilant...

Joke is if Offenders are caught they most probably get a suspended Sentance

Yet get Hundreds for each unit Stolen

Have seen a team working in my area, even had look outs challenging passers by

Reason I have not brought a New Vehicle as have had cars in my road, had theres stolen

Aware of team doing it in a Strong eastern European area. Who did catch them and was able to deal with it in their way before Police arrived

Not ideal but makes you feel that Way

Our car broken into again on St Ann's Road. Assuming they're doing that thing where they bounce the signal off the keys to the car... as the car was definitely locked. They ransacked the car a bit, but we never keep anything worthwhile in it so nothing was taken. It's the second time it's happened as well - so I think I need to get one of those boxes that stops the signal from being pulled from the keys.

Sorry to hear Kieran - happened to me about three years ago; stupidly I’d left my dash cam in the glove box and that went.

I reported it but got the inevitable “chance of solving this is nil, but thanks for reporting it” kickback, as happened this time with the converter.

Last year the Mansions had a bit of an issue with some undesirables using the secluded space behind the hedges to convene and take drugs - I called 101 about this and the St Ann’s team did step it up and they disappeared. Maybe same might happen here if a few incidents are reported.
