Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I urgently need to find a new home for our much loved and elderly cat due to an allergy/asthma in the family.

She is an incredibly sweet and very friendly 15 year old chocolate burmese. She loves sleeping, sitting on knees, and being cuddled - a lot!

She's fine with gentle children but not good with dogs.

She uses a litter tray, and  enjoys pottering in the garden but does not roam.

I've tried local cat shelters but its proved difficult due to her age.

She may not have many more years left but during that time would be a very loving companion.

Please let me know if you are interested

thanks.

Hi Eli. Just to mention I've sent you a connection request. I confirm that Lauren knows of a good potential home with someone very experienced with cats and no other cats. If you accept my connection request, we can private message.

Hi Justine,

thanks so much and sorry for the late reply, I've been offline for a few days. A friend of a friend offered to have her so we took her today.

Eli

Hi Eli. I'm glad you were able to find her a good home. The following is just general advice I give to people on rehoming (you will know all this, so it's just general info for people out there with a cat in a new home)

In a new home, a cat needs to be kept inside for 2 weeks. Then when first let out, make sure she is hungry, then she'll only go out for a short time, then feed her when she returns inside. Do this over a few days in daytime (not at night) and she will learn where her new home is. If you keep a cat inside at night, it reduces the risk of them getting lost or injured by a car. If you have a microwave, you can get a Snugglesafe heat pad to make her bed warm and cosy at home. A Yeoww catnip toy will help her settle. When she has settled in and using her cat flap to come and go freely during the day, it's a good idea to lock the cat flap at night so that she is safe inside at night. Microchipping and neutering is vital before a cat is let outside. If already microchipped, remember to update the contact details.

Lauren, you mentioned before that you might know someone who might be interested - just to mention Mrs Baylis/Eli is looking for someone to give her cute burmese cat a home again - as the other one didn't work out, her new post is here

If Mrs Baylis would like to explore this option then she can private message me her number and I will pass it on to the lady I know who does cat fostering and rehoming.
