Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Like councils round the country, Haringey Council is facing tough financial times. This week councillors lent a hand to help the council fill its yawning budget deficit.

Here cabinet member for Neighbourhoods, Nilgun Canver, sells off washing machines that have been dumped around the borough.

"If we all pitch in", said Councillor Canver, "we'll gradually chip away at the deficit until we're back on track. Can I interest you in the fast spin........."

Wot really?

Nah, 'f'course not.

In reality, this is a publicity photo released along with the following words to draw attention to the borough's very worthwhile free white goods collection service.
