Car Insurance for overseas guest
Help! I had assumed it would be easy to find a two week insurance deal for an overseas visitor as I did it a few years ago. However I have been unable to find anyone to offer cover at all! Despite advertising their services, the main companies have either declined to offer or have a position that the person covered must have lived in the uk for at least 12 months either now or in the past. This is very embarassing and awkward since the trade off deal in their county (Spain, but also France) requires no additional cost or even any kind of check! Does anyone know a broker who might help. I have tried all the companies that come up on Google search btw....

Hi Philip,
I tried to get Insurance for my husband on his International license but found options just not viable. I was offered 2 week (or may have been a month) 'holiday' insurance but was not what I required. I think it must have been current Insurer Aviva, or maybe Direct Line (I don't think either are on comparison sites). Had I needed for holiday only I think I would have gone down the car hire option instead.
