Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
Can you help this older person?
My neighbour, a vulnerable elderly widow on a state pension that lives with her son in his house, has a flat that has just been renovated (last month) and promptly torn to shreds (absolutely everything) this weekend by someone that broke in that is the recipient of care in the community. He has been taken into custody. Thankfully she was not in the property when he broke in. He had a large 6'' knife waiting for 'intruders' behind the front door.
She took out a loan to have the flat renovated and has no contents insurance. The buildings insurance will only cover the graffitti on the walls, ruined laminate floors and broken windows.
She needs replacement household stuff in very good condition: a three piece suite, a double mattress, two single mattresses, a rug or two, pots and pans, 3 x chest of drawers, curtains etc.

Christy, this is beyond horrible. Let me know of stuff is still needed, and I'll have a look and see what I have.
Hugh, might it be an idea to add this as a featured discussion of the need is still there?
Care in the community.... who cares for this old lady and helps her then? Where would she be without good neighbours and family? Ohhh, it makes me so ANGRY that people get away with this stuff. Care in the community my foot!

I think I have a spare wardrobe, a bed and chest of drawers in one of my flats alog with some mirrors and other bits and pieces . I will not know exactly what I have until Saturday and will require someone to pick up the items from lothair road south. Feel free to PM me if you want.
