Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I broke the tag off my zip on my favourite boots (ie the bit you actually hold on to on the zip)
The zip itself still works fine, it is just a pain grasping it without anything to hold on to.
I took into a cobblers near my work in town and they said they could not replace the tag - only the whole zip.

This seems a bit much. I still have the original tag- it just needs to be reattached to the zip.
Can anyone recommend a decent cobbler who might be able to do this for me?

I doubt very much that it could be re-attached. When this has happened to me in the past I have used either a paper clip or. better, a circular split ring ( the metal ring part from a keyring )
Here in Berlin we can get at most department stores and I have myself bought the replacement bits for zips ..either the flat bit or **the whole thing** Have you tried John Lewis? You surely don't need a cobbler?
Try the guy in Shopping City market, does keys and shoes. He's opp the fruit & veg section.
Not quite Harringay but we use Callis in Crouch End for everything - cobbler, keys, sharpening knives, leather repair etc. And they'll collect as well.
Try K G Shoes by Mornington Crescent....

Had shoes repaired here... and a wonderful job was done... they are traditional craftsman, rather than just a heel bar!
