Burgulary ? Police Lausanne Road

Last night 07.-4-14,  about 10-10.30 pm in lausanne Road a few doors down from the allyway  the police were after someone, who ran through mine and my neighbours back gardens treading and snapping down all my plants, and ripping my neighbours coldframe. 

My neighbour found a ring in his garden , was this a burgulary? 

Does anyone know anything about this?

i dont know how if they got them.
