Broadband providers on the Ladder

Getting fed up with TalkTalk - very slow and tech. support poor. Any ideas? I only need it for phone, emails and the like.

BT. Been with them for 20-odd years and never had a problem. Like you, I don't need astonishingly high speeds or massive amounts of data.

Only BT or Virgin. They can send directly their engineers in case of issue

I've had Virgin engineers over. Nine times and couldn't fix the problem, mostly due organisational dysfunction.

Four months without stable broadband.

Never again, even if it's great when it works.

We have lost count of the number of times Virgin have attended. Every time its a different excuse as to why things arent working. Often the speed drops down to nothing. If you phone they boost it right up and it works fine for a couple of hours then it slows up and keeps dropping out. It has been a cause of huge frustration in our house with kids trying to revise and research for exams. Engineers say the problem is with the infrastrure in Harringay. We are on the verge of dumping Virgin and going with another provider so are following this thread with interest.

Yep agree with Karen re Virgin. I keep having problems mainly with the phone not working. They have plenty of excuses, it never seems to improve but the prices keep skyrocketing!

Just called VM... same old story sending out an engineer - its hard to believe VM was one of the best broadband providers in the past - wonder what happened.

On the line with VM right now..... same old story... sending out an engineer. I think their helpline operators are all versed in the same old lines and verse - looks like VM is finished.
