Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Colossal congratulations to Bradley Wiggins on winning Le tour de France yesterday.

What a fantastic feat of endurance by an individual. I'm sure we all wish him well in the Olympics; it probably won't be long before he is Sir Bradley or Sir Wiggo.

And how even better looks his real achievement, alongside the pretender sports included in the Olympics, those of teams and/or based largely on technique. Such as synchronised swimming or team shooting. There can be no doubt about Wiggins' strength and stamina. Cycling should always be an Olympic sport.

Keep it real!

A truly great achievement - and against a backdrop of real ascendency in British cycling. Cavendish being declared the greatest sprinter of all time, Froome working hard for the victory and waiting in the wings, and above all Wiggins' immense and controlled performance. A fantastic win and a boost for a sport which somehow seems to me to embody a lot of older sporting values which are lost in (say) modern football (setting aside doping controversies of course). Congratulations Bradley!

embody a lot of older sporting values

William: strongly agree! I also hope and expect that this will be a big boost to cycling in society in general, even amongst us lessor mortals who don't possess Bradley Wiggins' strength.
