Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

On Saturday 14th September at 1pm, local punk publishers Insurgent Press are launching ‘A Psychogeography of Turnpike Lane’ at the All Good Bookshop.

The anthology came about last year during the Haringey Arts Festival when a group of writers got together to explore Turnpike Lane and the local area and were tasked with writing psychological reactions about the different spaces.

The works were gathered together in an anthology of prose illustrated by abstract imagery. Inside you will find such things as strange goings on at the Tollgate Pub; the truth behind the legend that is Haringey Passage; the wild adventures of a writer on a random journey; the kebab shops; a bookshop; an enlightening antique shop; and more.

The book launch at the shop will include readings and discussion of the inspiration of the pieces. Entry price includes a copy of this unique book.

Stephen Fitzsimons (Manager of All Good Bookshop) said: ‘I have a vested interest in this book launch. I took part in the writing event in last year’s festival and wrote a piece about my local. I hope I don’t offend too many people. Or get barred’

Other events by the publisher will be taking place in the local area, wider London, Margate, and Dublin. It is planned that Insurgent Press will launch similar writing projects in other areas.

Further details on the event can be found on the bookshop website.
