Boiler Install / Plumber recommendation

We finally got shot of our rubbish and very unreliable boiler which happened to die a couple of days ago (Monday) and got a new Worcester 25Si installed.

After searching through the internet and finally placing an ad on RatedPeople.com, I had a call from GB Plumbing and Heating which is run by a chap called Gareth Butcher.

Bear in mind that I put the ad on RatedPeople at around 7.30pm and after an initial email from Gareth explaining our situation, he rang me at 8pm out of his working hours to help us out.

Firstly what got me was that Gareth was very transparent in his pricing and knowledge of boilers was second to none.  He was also up to play on the Nest thermostat system that I wanted installed which a-lot of other plumbers had no idea about.  In terms of his quote, it was extremely competitive.

Being a accredited Worcester engineer also meant that we got an extended warranty and with the added system filter our warranty for the boiler is 8 years which means 8 years peace of mind!

Gareth came over the very next day (Tuesday) to confirm the quote that was given on the phone and to assure us that there would be no extra cost.  We booked Gareth in for the very next morning (Wednesday) to do the install.

He turned up with his colleague at 8am sharp and went about his business in replacing our boiler whilst his colleague flushed the radiators.  Throughout the install, Gareth and his colleague were both informative and responsive in all the questions that we were asking.  They were mindful of our property and put sheets and cardboard down to ensure nothing was damaged and they worked in a very clean manner.

It took around 5 hours for the installation and Gareth cleaned up, took away all the rubbish leaving me with a brand new boiler and nest thermostat.  They were also mindful in finishing off the job by explain all the important things to me such as the boiler functions, warranty, servicing and how the nest thermostat works.

These guys don't just come in and install the boiler and leave, they are serious about the work they do and I was very impressed by their professionalism and attitude to the job.
