Hi
Crouch end is trying to block a lap dancing club being opened in the area. am i right in thinking that the ladder residents have succesfully blocked a few applications in the past for these kind of ventures- and on the grounds of the typoe of people that would come into the area. if this is so and you have info about how this was done or who orchestrated this then the crouch end organisers are keen to find out. please give info
Sorry we haven't had that here. Did a quick Twitter search for you (http://search.twitter.com/search?q=lap+dancing) - seems like Birmingham Council is up there. Lots of active citizens in Birmingham. Connect with the Birmingham post via Twitter (or via http://cli.gs/7tHRHJ) - sure they'll direct you to useful local group up there.
Personally I don't 'get' the attraction of lapdancing clubs. But I don't think that you are helping your campaign by letting loonies who think that the men who go to strip clubs are paedos or will attack disabled people a platform promote their strange views about male sexuality.
If you're worried about house prices, that's fine. If you're bothered about the idea of men paying to watch women strip for them that's fine - but I don't thnk that it's okay to use irrational fearmongering tactics.
Also, if the club is approved, what will your attitude be towards the women that work there?
