Has anyone lost this young male black cat? He followed us into our flat and keeps trying to come in each time we put him back outside. The wood green animal charity advised us not to feed it and let it outside. We're in the N22 area behind turnpike lane. Respond to the post if you recognise the cat. Thanks

Well done for posting, what a lovely cat.
If you have a secure cat carrier or can borrow one from a neighbour, any vets will scan a cat for free to see if the cat is microchipped. The vet will also be able to confirm if male or female, approximate age and whether neutered yet. (As you know, It's important for cats to be neutered to prevent more homeless cats being born and to prevent injuries). Free Cat Neutering
Vets tend to be closed over the holiday period, but I think most Village Vet branches are open until about 1pm today.
If the cat is microchipped, the owner can be easily contacted.
If not microchipped, try putting a note on a temporary collar for any owner to call you.
If you speak to the owner, it's worth giving this useful advice from rescue places, in case anything relevant -
It's vital that cats are neutered and microchipped. They recommend that cats need a catflap - for access to the back garden plus they need catflap access to get back inside their home when they want. If cats don't have a catflap, they get stuck outside when owner out, which means cats are likely to wander looking for shelter. They advise locking the catflap at night so that cats are safe inside at night as it reduces the risk of them getting lost or injured. Remember not to let them out the front door by mistake.
Will keep an eye on Animal Search as there are missing black cats, but black cats can be hard to match by photo, although you've taken a good close up photo which always helps.
It's not safe for a cat to be out the front, due to danger of road. If further help needed, you can contact Stokey Cats and Dogs (stokeycatsndogs@gmail.com) and they have Stokey Cats and Dogs Facebook group
That looks suspiciously like our little cat, although she's most definitely a girl! Are you sure it's a boy?! We're on Sydney Road so she might be roaming across the back gardens to where you are. If it is our cat, thank you for not feeding her or encouraging her indoors - we've just moved here from a flat and she might be mistaking it for our old place.
