Female artists from different cultures are coming together to explore what it is to be a woman.
The Women’s History Month exhibition, at the Green Lens Studio, in Atterbury Road, Finsbury Park, will showcase pieces as far ranging as tiny birds sculpted into the pages of books to disjointed sound and video recordings.
The show, which will feature five artists from countries including Iran, China and Chile, will open on Tuesday, March 8.
Curator Jonida Gashi said: “The idea behind it is to explore whether there is such a thing as universal women’s history. All of the artworks show an interest in language and text, which are things associated with history.”
Book artist Lina Hakim, oil painter Linshu Zhang, sculptor Mina Salimi, sound installation artist Bommsoon Lee and urban artist Macarena Yanez will all take part.
The exhibition will run until Tuesday, March 22.
