Big Green Bookshop boss Simon Key broke the exciting news to Harringay Online over the weekend that the Big Green Bookshop is to run a literary festival in 2013.
There seems to be so much happening locally, I shouldn't be surprised at each new development. But Simon caught me unawares on the phone yesterday when he spilled the beans that BGB is planning to run a literary festival in Wood Green next summer.
The festival will see events in the bookshop itself as well as in the Mall, the library, Cineworld and up and down the high street. Performance poets on Wood Green High Street - how about that!
As part of the festival, BGB will also be bestowing the BGB Literary Award. Details are under wraps at the moment, but Simon did tell me that it'll be national and the winner will be announced at the festival.
If all goes well the festival should become a fixture in local diaries. What a difference a bookshop makes, eh.
