Beresford should be proud they're part of a great tradition. Didn't Beaverbrook steal all our gates and railings and dump them in the Thames Estuary?  Your gates may or may not bring China to world dominance, but it's the thought behind your scrappy gift that counts.

I've heard so many rumours about what happened to all that scrap iron. Did they really get dumped in the Thames?

To those who still have gates - if you reverse one of the hooks that hold it, it will be more of a job to steal it. They just lift off if you don't.

Or wire it up to the mains.
