Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

THE current consultation about Haringey Council gambling policy for the next three years ends tomorrow. Anyone wishing to respond should do so urgently: link to relevant Council page is here.

Unfortunately, the Cabinet Member (Nilgun Canver) who has helped publicise this consultation, has made a mistake in her letter to residents: "We have also taken the opportunity to re-iterate our ‘’no casino’’ resolution in terms of the borough as a whole."

Whereas the licensing officers' draft policy correctly says: There is no resolution to prohibit casinos in the Borough at present.

More casino comment here. It would be good if Cllr. Canver could correct any false impression that may have been created; ideally by granting an extension to the period for consultation.

Letter to residents from the Cabinet Member for Enforcement & Safer Communities, about the consultation on Haringey's gambling polices. As far as I am aware, there has never been a "no casino" resolution put to the full council.
