Hi all,
I am just wondering where does the best Turkish breakfast along Green Lanes. I've heard good things about the breakfast at Rakkas, but I'd like to know where else I should think about going.
Thanks!

Not sure - it was mentioned on a thread here a few months ago when someone linked to the latest ratings. I was really surprised as nothing I've observed there would lead me to think they were lacking in that respect.
A lot of the things checked customers won't see such as, how food is stored, prepped (meat & veg separately (which is a rule too easy to break when food is being prepped in a hurry) and cooked, are the cooks wearing headgear/hats (ever found a hair in a meal?!), is food in date, are equipment checks made, gas certificate up to date, how clean is the kitchen, do the staff have hygiene training and is it up to date (another thing some businesses can't bothered paying for but have to) etc. You get the idea! These low ratings don't surprise me unfortunately.
Unlike Matt above I wouldn't knock the cafe by Turnpike Lane tube. It's been there for years, it's well run and it's friendly. It's got lots of regulars and the food is fine- decent local nosh at a pretty reasonable price.
Sorry to disagree. This is a very nice spacious Art Deco gaff with pleasant staff and a good place to sit and chill. The food however is not good. Friends have just stopped going as they felt nauseous after eating there. Sorry but fail on food.
Went into Hala the other day as I was hungry and couldn't be bothered to cook. Had a chicken and potato stew which came with salad and a pile of bread. I would be bragging if I said I ate more than half of the stew. And hardly touched the salad. Bad? No delicious-just such generous portions I almost cried at leaving it!
