Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi,

I feel like ordering in but would like everyone's opinion on what the best Chinese restaurant in N8/N4 is. They must do deliveries.
Also while we're at it, Korean, Thai, Malaysian and Japanese restaurant reviews are also very welcome!

Thanks

Not had a decent Chinese in ages! The Honeymoon in Crouch End used to be good, but I'm going back 20+ years!

As for Malaysian, you cannot go wrong with Penang Satay on Turnpike Lane. Delicious food, v reasonably priced, nice owners. They have a separate delivery outlet, literally next door to the restaurant.

We use Seasoned Wok (mixture of styles), Shiso (Japanese/sushi) and Thai Neung (Thai) on Hornsey High Street on a very regular basis. I would also recommend Phong Hai (Vietnamese) on Priory Road.  Happy eating!

I'd give another vote to Seasoned Wok - really good food and always very quick to deliver. Have used them for years and the quality is always excellent.

I have two recommendations... Silkmaker on Tottenham Lane does good value good quality quick delivery...

But my top vote for quality food goes to Top Catering, which is actually in Edmonton, but you can get it in N8 by using www.hungryhouse.co.uk (Like HH on FB for a 10% discount for first time orders and weekly chances to win £25 voucher).
If you go with Top Catering the ribs and parcel battered chicken (chicken balls) are fantastic, the best i've ever had. Expect to wait 60-80 mins for delivery though. But it comes hot :)

I used Silk Maker for years but won't be again after a recent experience. The meal was delivered much later than the estimate and, when my husband complained that the food had arrived cold, he was told that the food was NOT cold! The conversation continued in a similarly unsatisfactory fashion.

Thai Neung gets our business now.

We are a bit addicted to home delivery from Thai Tanic in Crouch End. Some of the best Thai I've had in London http://www.thaitanic.co.uk/

We have two favourites: Khin Lee on Westbury Avenue - reasonable, good value, tasty, quick and Jade Palace in Crouch End. Khin Lee is really good value, tasty and quick - Jade Palace it's more expensive but is excellent quality. (Have also tried Top Catering - is also good, but still think JP Shades it!).

Funny - I can't stand Silkmaker always found it gloopy and over flavoured. Though it is cheap.....

We tried Thaitanic on Monday for the first time in a while  - the food was fine - but a bit 'hunt the meat' and  - took ages to arrive: we ordered from there at 6pm - food arrived at 7.55pm! So we'll be sticking to our regular haunt of Thai Neung! (which is great provided you like a bit of spice!).

It's a shame Satay Malaysia in Crouch End doesn't deliver - DELICIOUS. (you can pick up though)

Ooh good to know. Might try Thai Neung. Never had a problem with delivery times from Thaitanic tho : )
