I was looking on mybuilder in desperation to find a decent builder/handyman. Gabriel and Suki from Micasa Rooms came round to quote for fitting my oak kitchen worktop and tiling the backsplash.
The didn't have any feedback yet on MyBuilder.com, but they responded promptly and when they visited to quote they were knowledgable, asked the right questions and made sure they understood what I wanted to achieve.
Since buying my house a year and a half ago I have had several different builders/handymen/plumbers etc. I have been let down on several occasions by people who didn't take time to grasp what I wanted to have done and have done poor quality work.
Gabriel and Suki were great. They made suggestions and really assisted with my plans.
Their quote was really reasonable. I decided to take a chance and go with them, despite them being new to the site.
I am so glad I did. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was completed to a high standard. Communication was excellent. They made suggestions for where additional tasks would make the job better and completed these all as part of the job. They fitted the ceramic sink, tap, affixed units to the wall, cut down the oak worktops (over 6m of worktop), adjustments were made for perfect fitting along a wall that was not straight. They built and fitted custom oak doors to units, they redid all of my plumbing in the kitchen to a much higher standard than the previous builder (it was new plumbing already!), they replaced my garden tap because they saw that it had terrible pressure from a shoddy job previously.
The tiling is prefect, they fitted a new dishwasher. They even bought my heavily pregnant wife lunch! They were tidy and accomodating, easy to talk to and friendly.
I'm so happy I tried mybuilder and found these guys. I wont however need to use the site again as I would be confident in using Micasa Rooms for anything. I'm going to get them to do the decking in my garden next. I have already recommended them to friends. I'd grab them while you can. Workers of this quality soon get regular customers who wont use anyone else.
Thanks Gabriel and Suki. Great to meet you both. Thanks for your hard work and effort. I've never felt the need to give a tip for builders before (because of the poor quality wprk or snag list) but you deserved it. Our kitchen looks bloody fantastic. Pinterest kitchen done, just need to put the washing up away ;)

Unfortunately we didn't have the same experience. Suki and Gabriel came to give a quote to fit kitchen doors and 2 shelves in kitchen cupboards. They got back with a quote which we accepted and were due to start on Monday morning. At 830 we had a text to say one was away and the other ill so they would be with us on Wednesday instead. Annoying, but these things happen. On Tuesday we get a text saying the shelves weren't included in the original quote and if we wanted them to fit them it would be an additional £100 plus materials. We text back to say we wouldn't worry re.shelves and we'd see them in the morning. We spent the evening sorting out the kitchen again and getting the 30 cupboard doors out of the cellar. They were due to arrive at just past 9. At 945 we hadn't heard from them so phoned. No answer, so we left a message to ask if they were coming. An hour later we still hadn't heard from them so called again. No answer. We left another message to no avail.
We felt really messed around and let down by them, especially as i am 37 weeks pregnant with a toddler so waiting around endlessly is difficult not to mention the job would be done if we'd gone with someone else. I definitely would not recommend using them.
