Anyone got recommendations for agencies, or how to pick a good au pair from the squillions online ?
I have never had an au pair but have come round to thinking about the options again ...

I've never tried these websites (never had an au pair either altough I've been considering it too for some time). Most people on mumsnet seem to recommend aupair-world.net.
Today I also came across an article (in Italian) about a German agency that places 50-70 year old grannies as au pairs, which sounds quite an interesting idea to me - in fact one of the things that has so far put me off getting an au pair is the idea of giving so much responsibility to someone with hardly any experience (life experience as well as childcare experience).
