I have a US SIM card with about $15 credit left on it. It is from AT&T and should work in any "tri-band" phone, also you should be able to top it up once over there. It is valid until the end of October.
It's far cheaper than using your UK mobile; charges are 25c per minute both to make and receive calls within the US, and about 20c for texts. Not sure how much for international calls, but seemed to work out around 75c a minute to the UK.
Anyway, I won't use it, so anyone is welcome to have it for nothing.
