Apprenticeship Event: this afternoon at the Civic Centre

Lynne Featherstone MP will be hosting an annual apprenticeship event to take place this afternoon, 2-6pm at the Civic Centre in Wood Green.

Last year the event led to a number of companies taking on people from Haringey as a result – from the very next day.

This year, there will be around 20 businesses attending - from construction to hairdressing, plumbing to childcare, and finance.

The companies include: Barclays, Tottenham Hotspur, National Apprenticeship Service, North London Garages and City and Islington College.

The event is an opportunity to meet companies with apprenticeship vacancies, and find out more about how to apply for apprenticeships that will kick start a future career.

Apprenticeships combine practical training in a job with study. That means you get paid to study and learn a trade, whilst also being able to make contacts in an industry.
