Anyone know any good running routes

Everywhere is so wet and muddy. But want to extend my route. So was thinking parkland walk and then across to Highgate woods. Maybe ally pally. But will all be roads back down which im not over enthusiastic about

Any suggestions gladly recieved

Blimey this is a trip down memory lane. When I was a very very new runner. Just run a marathon locally, using some of the routes mentioned, particularly river lea

as for shoes, no idea
