Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I want to get some blinds or curtains to keep the light out but I don't know how it's possible when the window is wide open as the open inwards can anyone help ? They are the German style windows that open completely inwards from the side or flip a bit open inwards at the top.

In German they have external blinds / shutters, hence why they open inwards - the external blinds are excellent (I wish we have them in the UK) but they are super expensive.

Only real option as far as I am aware is to buy conservatory type blinds that are on runners and attach to each individual window.

Good luck!

If they attach to the Window though when the window is open, the room will be lit up by the ever annoying council street light outside. It seems external shutters is the only answer if you need to open the window full inside.
I have roller blinds on some of mine and the work fine. They were fitted by Hillary blinds. Mine are not 'black out' blinds but I am sure they do them.
We've just had tilt and turn windows installed and as I come from Germany I'm used to sleep in the dark. My husband got some curtains made that really keep out the light and it's still possible to open the window. Let me knowif you need more details and I'll ask him; he's an interior designers and got them made by the curtain maker he works with.
Yes please, would love to know more.
