Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Can anyone recommend a physio?

Preferably in or around the local area but also Islington/the City would be convenient.

Someone good at treating knee injuries, in particular Chondromalacia (aka runners knee).

I can recommend Walter McKone in Ally Pally on  020 8889 1610

You could ask your GP for a referral to the NHS.

Whittington has a physiotherapy department.

Hi Elle - did you manage to find a good physio for your knee?

I'm marathon training and suffering the same fate - runners knee - and keen to find someone local and reasonably priced.

I've been to Pure Sports Med in the past, and although they were great they're too expensive for me and I work locally so it's a pain (literally at the moment) getting into town.

Walter McKone seems to be more osteo related (correct me if I'm wrong!).

The NHS provides an good service. I've had the opportunity to compare both NHS and a physio in private practice, for running knee "issues".

The private physio bloke in Tunbridge Wells was a bit rushed and appeared to seek repeat business. He gave some good advice, massage (which I thought might have been appropriate for an injury, but not a chronic condition) and was a bit too much into how's-your-father banter? I only wanted results, not sympathy or placebos (there is some Quack medicine practiced in TW). The lovely physio women at the Whittington gave me exactly what I craved: practical exercises that I could continue at leisure.
