another attempted break in!
Hi All
Just thought I would add another warning as two men tried to break into our house last night at 10:30pm - I was in the house alone and all the lights were on so I have no idea what they were thinking, when they were unsucessful at ours they were able to open my next door neighbours door with ease - he has one of those useless plastic doors that the council think are acceptable to fit for their tennents!!! The poor guy was upstairs in bed
thankfully my husband walked down the path at exactly the same time and they didnt enter the property next door, and ran off to a car that was waiting for them further down the road not before telling us that they would be back later.
The police I have to say were great and arrived really quickly and said that it was likely that becasue of the football last night they assumed a lot of people would be out watching it and decided to try a few break ins early on.
I will try and pop round to as many people on our streetr as I can after work to tell them to be a little more vigilant. Hopefully the police catch up with these people soon!

Sorry I should have mentioned - we are actually not on the ladder but a further up the Roundway at the back of Wood Green. This does sound really similar though to a lot of the burglaries that have taken place around the ladder in the last few weeks so possibly the same people.
two young guys one blond one with dark hair and a third person driving the car which I think was a light coloured car I think I was more shocked at how early it was and that they were trying my house when it clerly looked like someone was at home!!! My poor was husband was very lucky that they just ran off!

Thanks for the warning, although I am not totally sure what one is supposed to do in order to be vigilant....
We can get better locks, and certainly look out for things like these happening in other people's properties when we are walking home at night....but then what do we do, spend our time listening out for someone trying to open our door or a window? It would not be possible to sleep at night!
Very worrying indeed. Glad all was well in the end, but let's hope they catch these guys.
