Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Was anyone else kept awake by a helicopter around midnight on Saturday, and then woken up by one early on Sunday morning?

I assume it was a police helicopter, and while I understand the occasional need for one, the persistent noise can amount to being as anti-social and disruptive as other noise nuisance. And it can quite intimidating, too.

Does anyone know what was going on?

Just a grumble the morning after a heli-disrupted night......

I came on here thinking surely someone else heard that annoying helicopter .... So yes, we heard it on Seymour, the morning one was worse for us than last nights. No idea what was going on,I did hear a couple of loud bangs at some point last night but I don't know if they were connected.

5am Sunday morning, agreed annoying for about and hour and then goes extremely quiet not even bird song on day break, woke me was even more irritating than the baby that wakes upstairs, probably woke the baby as well.

On the wider issue of the police helicopter as noise nuisance - yes it is. Send up the drones!

Cool

This is interesting - thx

I love their Twitter feed.  I work on the top floor of a central London building - they can be very distracting when I am trying to work!  But it's fun to go on twitter and find out what they are doing - around there it's usually chasing thieves on mopeds.

They woke some people up the other day (I can't remember where now) as a member of the public reported screaming in a back garden.  Of course it was a pair of foxes.

You can always go on Twitter and ask if it was the Met Police helicopter - @MPSinthesky and have a grumble on there.

But a) from what I've seen, most of the time when people think they've been disturbed by the police helicopter it turns out to be not them, and b) you won't get much sympathy from most people on Twitter as the police helicopter is only called out when they need to do a job, i.e. locate criminals or vulnerable missing persons.

Yes, there has been a lot more helicopter action this week than usual

This morning at 5am I thought there was a helicopter in our room. Shut the window tried to sleep again. No avail. Yes anti social unless there as an important reason for it.

If it was the police helicopter, then I imagine that yes there was an important reason for it. I don't suppose they are allowed to fly around for a bit if fun!
It was the police helicopter, helping search for a "male in a rear garden".
