Announced: Release dates of free tickets for Haringey's Olympic torch relay official evening celebration at Ally Pally

Tickets for the official Evening Celebration at Alexandra Palace to welcome the Olympic Flame to Haringey, will be released on Saturday May 26th at 10am.

There will be a huge demand for the 4,000 tickets and they will be released on a first come first served basis, with a limit of six tickets per household.

There are three ways to get tickets:

1. Online, through the Haringey Council website at www.haringey.gov.uk/Olympics where on May 26th at 10am you will see a link to Ticketmaster who are administering ticketing. Tickets are free but there will be a small postage charge for each ticket.

2. In person, for 18+ at Tottenham Green Leisure Centre, Philip Lane, N17 after 10am on Saturday 26th May. Please provide some proof of age, where necessary, and a utility bill or bank statement with your postcode on it and be prepared to queue.

3. By telephoning the Ticketmaster General booking Line: 0844 844 0444.

There are limited spaces on two disabled viewing platforms in Wood Green and Hornsey but these MUST be booked in advance (first come first served) from Ticketmaster Specialist Sales: 0844 847 1655.

The evening event, which has a superb entertainment programme, will feature singer Loick Essien and will be hosted by Ally Pally for Haringey Council on behalf of the London 2012 organisers LOCOG. It will enable thousands of Haringey residents to enjoy the occasion as they wait for the arrival of the final Torchbearer at the Palace.

Ticket holders will be allowed entry from around 4pm and the main stage will come to life at 5pm, showcasing up-and-coming live music acts, acrobatics, dance performances and Haringey Young Musicians.

The event will culminate in the arrival of the final Torchbearer who will light the celebration cauldron on the stage.

The Olympic Torch will enter Alexandra Palace grounds from the Muswell Hill end of Alexandra Palace Way. Following the final torch bearer exchanges (officially each called a “kiss”) the Olympic Flame will make its final journey onto the stage by the Ally Pally Ice Rink where the Olympic Cauldron will be lit. The event is expected to conclude at 7pm.

Those who do not get tickets can still join in the celebrations, by lining the route of the Torch Relay as the Olympic flame is carried from Tottenham to Alexandra Palace.
