I recently came across an article in the Islington Gazette of 1st March 1907. Its subject is in part a new ambulance station at the corner of Turnpike Lane and Willoughby Road (snippet below - full article attached).
I've been unable to find any other mention of it. However, looking at the details given of the location as being on the edge of Duckett's Common and just inside the Tottenham boundary, it seems that it must have actually on Duckett's Common, as the map below suggests. (Apparently "TCB" stands for telephone call box and "PCB" is Police Call Box).
Does anyone know anything about it?

There was indeed a phone box on that corner - and in my day a bright orange wagon from which a guy called I think Tubby sold food - especially good were the saveloys in a with mustard!
I can endorse that...
