Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi all.

Just checked the website and all the tickets are sold out.

Does anyone know if you'll be able to access the bottom of Ally Pally with access in Hornsey?

If not, does anyone have any recommendations of where to watch them? I was thinking Priory Park or even the pub garden of the Great Railway Tavern in Hornsey.

Anyone have any better ideas?

Thanks

Mmm.....that sounds like a lot, but given that Emirates Stadium holds about 60,000 in much more concentrated area, I still wonder why the limit was set at 30,000. I'm sure there's a good reason.

If the ticket limit is set at 30 000, it seems a reasonable limit. Under 10 s are free and don't require a ticket, which I guess could sell push it up towards 40 000 which is what on a dry evening they always used to get there, so I guess they know how to deal with those sort of numbers. I feel sure the emergency services also have an input in setting capacity.

I bought tickets because I felt it was important to support this event, and I honestly expected the vast majority to go for the free option around the perimeter. The fact that have sold 30,000 tickets, when it is possible to get a perfectly adequate free view, is fantastic and bodes very well for the future of this event. Let's hope the rain holds off!

Yes, I'm sure that it's with safety in mind that numbers have been limited,

Just what I was thinking. In the past there have been tens of thousands there, so it can't be just elfin safety. There are already two classes of tickets, the few indoor /balcony ones sold out in about a day. Closing the park completely seems a bit OTT, they could have a plebs area, though i guess fencing off the entrances makes it easy to ticket everyone - but then why not just let people find their own vantage point from inside the huge space?

If the whole park is closed there needs to be a load of publicity about this - using all press, and on the company's website, their home page just says its sold out but not that the park's closed. Tears before bedtime.

A good place to watch is at the end of the New River Village development by the water works. Have watched from there before and the view is very good.

I've got tickets for Saturday night, but I think the free viewing spaces will be very busy now that it has sold out. Looking at the floorplan, just about the whole of Alexandra Park has no access, so I assume is not being used as a a viewing area. If this is the case I would be surprised if the capacity is any higher than 10 000, compared to the reported 40 0000 that used to attend the event. There could be an awful lot of people wandering around the perimeter of the Park Saturday night thinking they could either get in on the night, or just looking for a viewing point!

It'll be like Glastonbury in the olden days, where there's not double fences and incentivised security and a will, there's a way.

Bought those VIP tickets though me, feel like a right prat.

It's a firework display - On top of a hill - in a huge park - Fireworks go off in the air - work it out

Security will be doing bag searches and refusing entry to food, drink and sparklers ...

One of the best viewing points to watch the fireworks is at the top of Montenotte Road that leads to Highgate Wood School. The top of Ferme Park road is also good but a bit further away.
