Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hello

Does anyone have advice on tier shutters in their Bedroom ? I want to get them to replace very large heavy curtains In my sons bedroom but am worried they will not be dark enough when it's light outside?

The curtains they have at the moment make it so dark which is great but as they are used to having a good sleep in I would be disappointed if we got them and they made the room to bright and they start waking up at 7am we won't be amused when we usually get a good 9 am out of them.

I will appreciate any advice from anyone that has them.

Thank you.

Thank you FPR all very helpful there are tons to choose from so will ask when they come to give us a quote for all those things you suggested . I don't know anyone that has them that they can have a sleepover to try them out. It's an expeni mistake to make if I get it wrong. Thanks for your help :-)
Plantation (louvre) shutters are too bright for a kids room unless you like to wake up at 5.00am in June.

Go for black out shutters. These are solid and remarkably beautiful. They are however more expensive than louvred ones. The only reason I can think of for why that is is the shutters are made in China and I guess blackout shutters are a UK only thing (it's more Victorian/Edwardian rather than Southern U.S.)

Anyway, good luck!
Thank you Mark they are lovely I have seen many and they look really good but I I don't think they will work as the room is at the front of the house on the ground floor and I want to have the bottom half shut and top half louvred open as it's my sons bedroom so you can't see in so much but there is lots of light.
Ikea black out blinds are perfect for keeping light out of a kid's room. They come in lots of colours :)
Thank you Norah :-)
