Just moved into a house where the previous owner had a contract with ADT. The property is vulnerable and the immediate neighbours have been burgled at some time. (the properties back into a park) I am having a free security audit on Monday. I have googled reviews for the company and they are a little scathing. Anyone out there used them? Would really appreciate some feedback.

I've used ADT for my small business, and found them to be a complete nightmare. They set-up a police monitored alarm system, and six months later we found out it was not monitored at all. They would take payments for servicing the alarm when they didn't even turn up to service it. Customer service was non-existant. They basically tie you in to a contract, take your money, and quite literally leave you alone.
Their residential service may be different from their commercial one, but my experience of ADT was not good - sorry!!
thanks doug, that is the kind of remark I've been reading online elsewhere...
Avoid! No need to be locked into such a long contract and all standard items with other alarm companies are 'add-ons' with ADT. I think as standard, all of the alarm boxes are decoys as well...
My recommendation, Third Eye Security. Get yourself a GSM alarm capable of sending a text message if it goes off. You'll pay roughly £600 - £700 for the entire system. End result, a great alarm system which you own. Third Eye are also local.
Another good company, North London Security. We had them quote as well and they were very professional.
