Harringay online

Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

It is anxiety awareness week this week so am dropping a line to say if anyone out there is suffering stress/anxiety and getting a bit fed up about not being able to overcome it, then I'd like to recommend that you give acupuncture a try, if you haven't already.

I was lucky enough to find Rita Shamia of Peachy Acupuncture (facebook.com/PeachyAcupuncture) and was really pleased with the result.

I was a little skeptical initially about acupuncture, but I have found that it had a really positive effect on lowering my stress levels and I found Rita to be an extremely warm, kind and empathetic practitioner.

In addition, Rita has managed to alleviate a long-term back pain gained from too many years working in an office environment!

Rita is based in Crouch End and is really worth a visit!

Thanks,

Felicita

(Of course, I am advocating acupuncture as an addition to any advice/medication offered by your GP)

Placebo is awesome and it does need a bit of theatre to be convincing. Shhh...

You're quite incorrect Jonny. There have been thousands of 'scientific' trials. The World Health Organisation has a significant list of conditions proven to be effective when treated by acupuncture. It isn't some airy fairy new age juju - it is a sophisticated system of medicine that has been keeping the Chinese population (c1.4 billion) healthy for thousands of years. Many people enjoy considerable benefit from it. It works both independently and to complement western medicine. Mindfulness, cbt, meditation, psychotherapy and anti-depressants all have their place in treating mental health. That is the real meaning of holistic medicine. However, I appreciate your mind is already made up so my response is directed at others who might read your post and be put off getting help.
Jonny - It didn't work for you but that doesn't mean it doesn't work. Western medicine also doesn't work for everything nor everyone. I wish you well.

Thank you Fliss. Nice of you to recommend. Hope life is treating you well. X
