Hello, I am putting out a request for accommodation in the area for a friend of mine who has recently become a one-parent family. She needs to find accommodation urgently for herself and her eight year old daughter. She would be interested mainly in either a bedsit or studio or even a room in a shared house. However if she takes a room in a shared house it must be a female-only house.
She has a job, can provide employment references, and salary security references. At the moment her quiet and studious 8 year old daughter is used as the stumbling block for every property she sees- in fact as soon as people hear she has a child she normally does not even get to see the property.
So any suggestions gratefully received and I will pass on.
Thank you
Christina Davis

Thank you Ben for those suggestions. C
i have 2 lovely rooms to rent in my house on the ladder, but i am a male (single dad) so if she can get over her prejudice against men i might be able to help.
Thank you very much. She has just taken a room in Tottenham with a family but I will certainly mention this to her also as it is closer to school. Thanks for replying.
PS no prejudice against men at all, she's just following legal advice she has been given with regard to her daughter's accommodation.
oh ok, that is fair enough then, if it makes any difference my son is 6 and a half and goes to south harringay infants, and we have a cat and a tortoise incase either mother or daughter are alergic to cats, tortoises or 6 year old boys.
