The Box (tree) moth is destroying our hedges, and I thought I should warn others about its presence in the area. Keep an eye out for the caterpillars https://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profile?PID=760
Hi Dan,
So sorry about your box hedges.
It's a very sad situation.
I've just taken my last box plant out as I just haven't the time to protect it any more but if you have there's lots more information about biological controls on this thread:

Hi Sally,
Thanks for the links and advice. Luckily, we've taken the action (1) you described using a biological treatment. They are devastating! Action needed quickly.
Hi Dan,
I've had several call-outs to treat this species in the last week and have a number of non persistent products that work extremely well in minutes.
It is however very important to ensure the inner core of the box also receives adequate treatment. I apply these products through a spray wand via a tank sprayer and pick up the dead caterpillars on completion so the birds don't get them.
Anyone needing some help with these can contact me either via this site or on 07761373060.
