The computer is really fast and after full re-installation so there is no risk of virus or hidden system issues.

This computer is rather for general purpose and your friend needs definitely something much stronger with RAM, processor and I would recommend to put into a computer the solid hard drive.

Nothing too exotic. Just Office, Internet, Photoshop, Video editing with DVD output, audio editing with Audacity, Don't need Avast as BT provide on-linwe McAfee/ Present computer has 1G RAM so 4 should be fine.
