Hugh. I've just spotted your early hours post. Replies are supposed to come through Haringey's Press Office. But given the potential for rumours and anxiety to spread, I'll risk the wrath of the Chief Whip to nip this in the bud.

Firmly and unequivocally: not so. No payroll freeze. Staff salaries will be paid as usual.
