Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

At least 250 new trees will be planted around Haringey each year up to 2011 under a newly agreed strategy to improve the borough's environment.

The plans are part of a new Tree Strategy and Planting Programme approved last night (Tuesday 16 September) by Haringey Council's Cabinet.

This is aimed at increasing the number of trees in the borough and ensuring that the 40,000 trees currently managed by the council are well protected and well managed.

Have they started planting replacement trees on the ladder roads yet? To replace the ones that were removed in August?
No sign of any on Seymour Road. Have just checked earlier discussions about this and all that I'd heard was the trees would be planted "this planting season". Am no tree expert but expect this will be a little later in the year when they can be sure it will be cooler and wetter than the summer (ha ha).
Pleased to hear this. Just hope they don't make the mistake of marking out places for new trees and then putting in CPZ poles every few yards or so.. like they did in Rowley Road off St Ann's Road when the CPZ and new tree planting coincided...

We've still got the poles and very few trees...
