Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

An opportunity to work with a world-class Urban Design Consultancy & help plan the Future of Archway

This from London 21:

A unique planning process will soon take place in Archway, north London. This exercise will be run by the Better Archway Forum, design consultancy, Space Syntax, the London 21 network and the UrbanBuzz programme.
Local people will be invited to use some innovative approaches and techniques to help develop a vision and action plan for the Archway neighbourhood.

As part of this, London 21 and Space Syntax will be recruiting a limited number of volunteers to help manage the process. We’ll train the volunteers (for free, expenses paid) in all the skills needed to do this kind of work.

If you’re interested in the development of cities and neighbourhoods, in community engagement, in creating better environments, in the future of London or in understanding more about how change happens, and if you would like to be part of an innovative project, then we’d like to hear from you...

• You might be a resident of Archway…
• You might be interested in how people work together…
• You might be someone with a real desire for better urban design in London…
• You might be qualified or you might not — don’t let what you know or don’t know put you off….

We’re looking for people to work with local Organisations before the event, to help run the event, and to help take forward the ideas that come out. It may also be that you’ll get the chance to be more involved in future work by Space Syntax and other partners. It’s a great opportunity to work at Community level and also work with a world-class Urban Design Consultancy.

If this sounds interesting, send us an e-mail with a short note outlining why you’d like to be involved. If you can send us a CV or a short biography, that would be good as well. In the first instance, e-mail Chris Church, Chair of London 21: chrischurch@phonecoop.coop .
