Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Just got Harringay Online signed up to this US based site. What do you think folks? Any use to us to get working on a goal or two? (Frustratingly, you need to download Firefox to access it).

How does it work?

Tell the world about your goals, challenges, and problems — even if you don’t have the solution yet! Like-minded people contribute to the goal. Contributions are pooled. Solution providers bid to win the opportunity to carry out the goal and get paid. Each contributor votes on his or her favorite bid. The winning proposer is notified to do the project. After the work is completed and verified, CommunityGoals pays the solution provider.

Have a goal?

CommunityGoals offers an easy-to-use process that helps you connect with like-minded individuals, raise money for your goal, find solution providers, choose the best solution for your goal, and verify that the work is done as expected.

Have money you want to contribute?

CommunityGoals lets you give money to your favorite goals. It also provides an open process so you know that your money is being spent appropriately. In addition, you get a voice in the process by discussing and voting on the proposed solutions.

Want to offer your services?

CommunityGoals allows you to bid on projects. Winning bidders carry out the work and are paid when it is completed.

If I was a Saudi Prince...
Nah, you don't have to give. We can set goals for ourselves and, if we want, seek out funding.
Hmmm.... a better example of what I meant.

Perhaps an Evangelising Born-Again-Christian used car dealer?

There is just too much money out there in the pockets of wealthy religious nutters (lots in the city) who want children to learn "what they know" etc and are prepared to fund other nutters in doing this as long as they have good control over how the funds are spent.

Honestly, who is going to "fund" us in furthering our own goals other than ourselves?

At some point we'll have enough members to make a case for deciding how some of our council tax budget is spent... won't we?
