Johanna Beumer of Muswell Hill has been finding homes for former racing greyhounds for 43 years and has 48 dogs in her Waltham Abbey kennels in Essex.
However, the August closure of the popular and iconic Walthamstow Stadium in East London will force more dogs into her care and cut the amount of funding her greyhound charity receives.
When the last race is run next month, the older greyhounds will be given to Ms Beumer and her team of volunteers at Whittingham Kennels.
It may well be. Click on the link in the original post and you'll see that Johanna's phone number is given in the article. (Do me a favour, race them round Sainsbury's car park in memory of days gone by!)
Thanks for posting this Hugh, it's a very worthwhile cause.
Greyhouds are wonderful, and like she says in the interview, they're couch potatoes, they do not actually need that much exercise.
I'd happily take one had it not been for my two rescue cats already residing with me, they'd never forgive me...
Anyone fancy a dog, this really is your chance to get a truly lovely pet and companion.
