Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Three Holocaust survivors will be speaking at a special event next week to mark the opening of a new exhibition in Hornsey.

Roman Halter, Harry Olmer and Mala Tribich will be giving their talk at Hornsey Library gallery next Wednesday.

The event is in honour of Mr Halter's exhibition featuring prints, drawings and paintings under the title The Day of Liberation from the Camps - May 1945.

Mr Halter survived Auschwitz and Stutthof death camps, escaped after the bombing of Dresden, and eventually returned to his home town of Chodecz in Poland to find that his entire family had been murdered, and that only four of the town's 800 Jews had survived.

Moving to the UK, Halter became an architect and later an artist, working in stained glass and bronze as well as on paper. He now lives in Haringey.

The talk will begin at 7pm at Hornsey Library gallery, Haringey Park, Hornsey.

The exhibition will run from April 29 to May 10 and will be open Monday to Friday from 1pm to 7pm and Saturday and Sunday from 12pm to 4pm.
