Absolutely. Which is all the more reason for the council to crack down on HMO's, not only to catch and reprimand the landlords - but to protect the people that they are taking advantage of and cramming into these properties.

Woa, steady on Michelle, I think you may be taking a little leap of logic here. We know no more than the local rag reporting the fire as "suspected arson". Even if it were proven to have been arson, as far as I'm aware we know nothing of the motivations of the arsonist. So I'd be reluctant to assume this has anything to do with the migrant status or any other particular characteristic of the occupants unless we know the facts.
I don't want to get all pedantic here but this post is actually about a different fire, that happened a few years back on Grand Parade. The fire that the newspaper article refers to is discussed in this post here, so suggest we keep that thread going rather than resurrecting this one!
