OK, I can't tell you where the funding comes from but it has been shown to reduce accidents involving pedestrians by 50%.

What other schemes are you talking about?

John,
Herd of these reports before that schemes can save lives
But what was the Figures before and after the schemes was installed

Never Herd it beng discussed when Councillors are asking residents

I am sure the Tax Payers of Haringey
Accept that it Can save lives
But not @ the high price of loss of other services

Same can be stated for removing All cars from road
Can save lives

But we need transport to get Around

Constantly being shaken around by so called Speed Bumps / raised Junctions
Must be causing damage to many Motorist and vehicles

BOB/R
Those figures are for a percentage change. So for instance before the raised intersection there were 2 accidents involving pedestrians a year and afterwards there is only one.

I hate speed humps too, but I think the raised intersections are a good idea.

Removing all cars from the roads would definitely save lives. 3150 in 2006. See this report in What Car - http://www.whatcar.co.uk/news-article.aspx?NA=225553

Out of interest, can you give me an example of a service that's been cut because of funding problems?

john
Sorry to butt in - to answer your supplementary but not to the main point of the conversation. Ian Sygrave of the LCSP mentioned to me the other day that the Neighbourhood Management Teams are being "reorganised" with a view to saving £2.7m. I think Councillor Alan Stanton may be able to correct me if I'm wrong.
