1st Advent and the run up to Christmas
I've been waiting all day for someone to mention that today is the 1st Advent..
Still quite a big thing in my (mainly Protestant) part of the world..
One of my favourite seasonal pieces of music - perhaps a little too early, but nevertheless..

Seriously, I think that that is a typical Scandinavian musical sound.. Anyone else know any different?

The mulled wine, ice rink and gingerbread are ready, but no winter weather yet:
Ther are over 60 Christmas markets in Berlin.. This one on Spandauer Straße in Mitte..This time last year there were daytime temperatures of -10°C and plenty of snow.. as the HOL members who visited will remember. It's currently 6-8°C daytime.
