Hi there, I’ve got 11 unopened bags – that’s 275kg in total – to give away of top-quality Dark Grey pointing mortar that normally retails at around £25 per bag.
It’s by Kingfisher, colour-fast and extremely fade-resistant, easy to work and there’s enough there to point or repoint the front and back of an average 2 or 3-bed terraced house in Harringay – possibly also the side if it’s a semi, depending on the type of mortar joint employed.
Unfortunately my contractor ordered the wrong shade, and the supplier doesn’t accept returns, so it’s offered here in the hope of keeping it from landfill.
But if you want it, you’ll need to collect it from N15, near Chestnuts Park. If interested, please message back ASAP, as it’s also listed on an auction site, but I’ll happily end the listing if I can give it away to someone who needs it locally if that turns out to be quicker.
Please note: the mortar you can see on the wall beside the bags in the photo is NOT the dark grey shade offered here (and which you can read more about here: https://www.kingfisheruk.com/coloured-pointing-mortar-item-69dg#69dg), but the more concrete-coloured Light Grey shade I’d actually wanted.
Thanks for reading

Hi Jon,
I am going to pass this on to the guys at the Shelter on Mattison Road as they need some pointing work done ASAP
C
Thanks, Con.
As it’s a dark grey (the kind of shade that would tone well with the ‘anthracite'-framed windows and bifold doors you see in more and more in so many new-builds and conversions), it would create quite a contrasting affect in the London stock or red brick that predominates locally.
But then you do see a fair amount of that (the deliberate contrasting effect) around these parts too, so hopefully it will be of use to somebody.
If you need a good pointer I would recommend Tony Wallace - https://www.pointingbytonywallace.co.uk/
Stripped the paint off my house and reipointed it all using lime mortar in the summer of 2019 and now the house looks as good as the day it was built. I live in Noel Park which is a conservation area and he's done another house nearby and both now have drawn a lot of comments on how good they look.
He is super busy most of the time so may be hard to get hold of him for a quote etc. but well worth the wait.
